So this post will be on how I did my makeup for the night out last night, this is really tailored to make blue eyes pop but it works on any eye colour really.
First, I apply moisturiser all over my face. One that has no SPF preferably, as the SPF will anger the flash and you will end up having a white face! Keep this pattern up all throughout the process of your makeup products ie, don't have SPF in anything if you can. It will end up looking better and the flash will show your true makeup rather than reflecting back a white appearance.
Next, I apply MAC's Lustre Drops in the shade "Sun Rush". Little drops of shimmery tan glowing heaven these are!!!
I have shown what it looks like squeezed out onto my hand and rubbed in also! My iPhone didn't pick up the colour the best but trust me, it's class! :)
I apply this product all over my face. Personally, I cannot wear tan on my face so I use this to even out skintone when I have tan on my neck and body!
Next, conceal and highlight. Introducing my two little buddies which help me have flawless skin!! Smashbox's Hih Definition Concealer in shade "Light" and Smashbox's Photo Op under eye brightener.
This is a photo of my little friends! Really don't know what I would do without these... They are really great... And the best thing?? The brightener DOES NOT CREASE under the eye!!!
This is a swatch of both. The concealer is on the left and the brightener on the right.
I conceal any blemishes/redness with the concealer and I apply the brightener under the eye and around the year duct and under the brow bone. Leaving the lid free of product.
On the eyes, I primed the lids (as I do every day) with MAC's paint pot in "Painterly". This really lasts as long as you need it to without ever creasing and makes any eyeshadow live up to its true colour and pigment!
Then I apply my foundation. I used my HD foundation as I showed in my last post. In the shade 118.
Next, eyes.
The shadow in "bronze" was applied all over my lid. While the colour "Cranberry" was applied in my crease and blended out well upwards towards the brow bone. I blend with a clean brush though, so that the colour towards the brow bone is really faint. "Bronze" is also applied under the eye and "Cranberry" is applied just at the very corner of the under eye at the outside. Almost matching up with the same blended colour from the socket line.
Bronze on the left and Cranberry on the right. I need a new one soon! Love this colour for blue eyes!!
Both swatched with "Painterly" applied underneath.
Liquid liner is applied on the top lid in a small flick on the outer corner.
Two coats of mascara!!
Then my brows are filled in with my HDbrows palette.
I use the palette in shade "Vamp". I use the bottom two colours mixed together. These powder are so pigmented and do not budge! They are perfect after even sleeping in your make up all night... SHOCK HORROR! Honestly though, staying power from this bad boy is awesome!!
Face powder in "Medium Plus" from MAC's mineralise skinfinish range is dusted all over the face.
Contouring is done using a small round fluffy brush and the blush "Harmony" which is a matte colour.
I used the blush in "Melba" all from MAC. It is a peachy warm colour that brightens my skintone without adding an actual colour as I have a lot of drama with eyes and lips in this look!
Lips are primed with MAC's Prep and Prime lip primer.
Then the lipliner. MAC's "Magenta" is applied all over the lip.
I love this lipliner!! It is a deep blue-pink colour.
I apply the lipstick in "Saint Germain" just in the centre of the lips and blend with a small lip brush. These colours are amazing together!
Swatches of the two lip colours.
The lipstick Saint Germain is on top with the liner below that.
No flash was used to take any of my photos!
Here is a look at the finished look.
I will admit, the quality is pretty crap, but it was taken on my iPhone. It's just to get an idea!
There is no filter or flash on this photo. Again, apologies for the quality!!
Thanks for reading! <3
Which eyeshadows do you prefer for your eye colour?? Xx
