Brush Cleansing!

Hello!!
I mentioned to my friend the last day after I washed my brushes how much I loved using them from clean again when... SHOCK HORROR, she said she had never ever washed her brushes... Ever. She will remain nameless to save face ;)

This is what I do:

Mix equal portions of washing up liquid and olive oil. This mixture works best for me as it cleanses the brushes perfectly and leaves them soft also!

So mix them two in a mixing bowl and dab each brush in it to coat JUST the bristles. Don't go past the silver part that holds them and the handle together as that may get loose and fall off, that would not be good! One by one, dip them all in and leave them at the side of the sink and leave it on for about 4-5 minutes.

Take the brush you dipped in first and with your hand under running water swirl the brush under the water and keep swirling it on your hand to activate the washing up liquid you should see all the yuck colour running down the sink! Nice!

Once you're happy it's clean and the water is no longer coloured, squeeze out the excess water with your hand and lay it flat on a towel.

Repeat these steps with all the brushes.

Lay all brushes out flat on the towel until they dry, probably over night.
There you go!  Beautifully clean makeup brushes that will apply your make up perfectly!!  Yay!

Thanks for reading!

  4. Really useful post! I must admit I probably don't cleanse as often as I should, and when I do I use No.7's brush cleaner which I find a bit too chemical-heavy so will give your way a go!

Please check out my blog and if you like it follow me :)
